Comics and Mexico

For a curious look at Mexico through the eyes of its graphic artists, you have to go to the Museo del Estanquillo, in the historic centre of Mexico City.   Post-revolutionary comics, comics about WWII, about prostitution, poverty, corruption, Christmas traditions... If you're lucky, you may still catch an exhibition about Andrés Audiffred, who drew numerous incredibly typical characters from the beginning and mid 20th century.  And afterwards, reward yourself with a fine view from the terrace of this museum, which was founded by one of Mexico's most famous essayists - Carlos Monsiváis.
