vegan, queer and jewish

This morning was a very nice last day in what's been home for the last five years.  First, a vegan brunch at our favourite place, a place that actually saw us having brunch there almost every Sunday for five years!  And we actually had the very same thing that made us fall in love with the place - scrambled tofu, vegan sausage and blueberry almond pancakes with vegan butter and maple syrup.  Hypercaloric, I guess, yeah, but delicious!

Then, with a few hours to kill, we went to our favourite museum in town - The Art Gallery of Ontario, or AGO.   And what did we see there?  Fan the Flames - Queer Positions in Photography.   I loved this gender-bending exhibition, with photographs from the 1920's of women dressed as men, a Life Magazine article from around the sixties about Bull Dykes and the "sexually inverted" or "sex deviants", film, stories about transgendered men and women, a pictorial of a couple where both partners transitioned non surgically towards the opposite gender... Fantastic, and oh so Toronto!

And last but not least, one of my favourite cups of macchiato from an Israeli chain - Aroma.   Perfect espresso, perfect foam.
