- Umeshiso maki, made from umeboshi, or pickled Japanese plums, and shiso, or green perilla leaves. I so missed this flavour! Well, and since they made it into the photo, my huz'z sushi, which almost brought tears of happiness to his eyes. [SIGH]
- Kamaagae udon. Fat, thick, heavy noodles and a simple but flavourful dipping sauce. I made an absolute mess, I'll admit. These noodles were extra long and weighty! But it was a delicious - if splashy - choice.
- Warabimochi! The pièce de résistance. Starch jelly with toasted soybean flour sounds far less tempting than the Japanese word, but we adore this Japanese dessert, and it brings memories of a trip to Nara many, many years ago.
Thankful for this experience and these memories. どうもありがとうございます!
