Winter sunset at the Toronto Islands

We had been waiting for the cosmic confluence of good weather and free time to go to the islands for a sunset, and Saturday was the day.  It was simply stunning...

From the ferry trip to Ward's Island, through ice so thick it had beautiful blue hues that reflected the soft sunlight...

To this solitary emergency phone by the entrance to Snake Island...

To our favourite spot, the north shore of Snake Island, for a simply unbeatable sunset...

And a walk on the frozen water between Algonquin Island and Ward's Island, with boat-houses temporarily moored in the ice...

To one last look at Toronto while waiting for the ferry to go back.
