a sunny autumn walk

I didn't think we'd have another chance of enjoying fall colours in Toronto, but though today was a chilly day, it was sunny (unlike the last 4-5 days), so we couldn't miss the chance for a day out and a fall walk.

We had gorgeous trees...




Even the last bit of a religious service at the Russian Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, which had been originally a Synagogue.  Neither of us are religious, but it's a pretty church and we had never seen a service there...



Of course, the multicoloured foliage against the city, or covering parts of the University of Toronto, was beautiful too...





But the best part of all was finding this handsome tree in Queen's Park, a White Oak.  And lying down, on the soft ground, in this chilly day, with the sun on my face, the blue of the sky and the orange red of the leaves above, and the soft grumbling of the subway below...
